Ken Gabrielson

Ken Gabrielson has an extensive history in martial arts. Ken is a “FULL Instructor” in Jeet Kune Do Concepts and the Filipino Martial arts under Paul Vunack. During the late 90’s Ken worked with Paul to teach hand to hand combat to the Navy SEALS in Virginia Beach Va. In 1993 Ken Received his Black Belt in Gracie Jiujitsu under Reylson Gracie. In 1995 he opened Combative Fighting Systems in Orange County Ca (first non-Brazilian BJJ Academy in the US). Ken trained many MMA fighters as well as BJJ competitors. In 2014 Ken moved to Colorado and opened Combative Fighting Systems (CFS) with his son’s Chris, Mike, and Kenny Jr. In 2020 Ken won IBJJF GI Pan AM’s and World Championships. In 2021 Ken won a World Championship in No-Gi. Ken is a member of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s “Dirty Dozen”, first 12 non-Brazilian students to receive a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Ken is the first American to be promoted to Coral belt (RED and Black).

Chris Gabrielson

Christopher Gabrielson is a 1st degree  Black Belt under Ken Gabrielson, Chris received his Black Belt in May of 2020. Christopher has been teaching Jiu-Jitsu for 7+ years, and has competed in both national and international competition. He qualified for the IBJJF Adult world championships in 2023. Some of Chris’ accomplishments at the Black Belt level include- 2022- AJP Tour Cancun International- GI and NO-GI Gold medals. IBJJF- ADULT- 2022- Los Angeles and Waco GI Gold medals. Los Angeles NO GI Gold medal. Masters- North American International Open bronze medals in 2022,2021. Chris has competed against many world champions in competition, and is a true student of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. 

Ken Gabrielson Jr.

Kenny Jr. is Ken Gabrielson’s youngest son. Like his brothers Kenny started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu pretty much from the time he could walk.  He currently holds the rank of Black Belt which was earned in March 2023. He is a career firefighter so he chooses to teach rather than compete. Kenny also wrestled in club and high school wrestling; catastrophic knee injuries ended his wrestling career early. Kenny is dedicated to teaching Brazilian jiujitsu and is Co-founder of Next Gen CFS
